Who knows much about the Dell MediaDirect partitions?

Okay, I have an M1210 that I got about a year and a half ago. Love the laptop and, as with all laptops, the first thing I did was to wipe it out, repartition and install fresh Windows. I had/have no use for MediaDirect so I wiped it out as well. For a while, I've been meaning to dual boot Ubuntu with my current setup, Vista Business. Well, a novel idea came to me and I wondered if anyone knew if I could set the currently useless MediaDirect button to boot my Linux partition while my power button booted my Win partition.
