[RESOLVED] Cd Rom does not work a

My computer crashed while trying to load scanner software. Windows '95 had to be reinstalled. All the drivers were installed and operating properly except the CD drivers. I have tried to re-install the CD drivers, but after the system reboots and attempts to go to windows, it stops to display that there is no drive loaded;driver powered down. What can I do to bring the CD drive back to life? I have tried everything I could think of, i.e., copying the config.sys and the autoexec.bat from a disk (files used before the crash), reinstalling the CD rom drivers, downloading the new driver for the CD rom (Sony Atapi Ver. 2.27b)[the original version was 2.17a),etc. Can you help me please?
