Just got back from the theater, and wow, it was amazing! I rarely like movies based on comic books as they always get it wrong, but I really enjoyed this one. Anyone else like it?

Not yet but I will
My 14 year old manga/anime fan loved it! She went to the midnight movie Thursday followed by a sleepover with GFs. After school Friday, I asked her "who was your favorite character?" She surprised me by answering "Captain America!" In fact, while buying a new bike today, we got a 3D Captain America backpack to go with it.
I won't see it 'till next week, as I'm still working through disaster recoveries from recent thunderstorms. Plus I've got a toilet replacement Sunday A.M., & a hard drive replacement, backup recovery, and delivery Sunday P.M.
Sounds like you could use a break!
True, but I made nearly a normal month's gross last week. Did however defer the computer delivery 'till Monday, since I may be replacing some flooring before I get the new john installed :knife:
this movie looks pretty good http://forums.windrivers.com/images/.../2012/12/1.gif
Younger Child liked it a lot, and her tastes and mine are similar. We read many of the same books, enjoy most of the same movies, anime, and manga, so if she's nuts about it, I'd say it's gotta be pretty good. For both of us, the big upcoming event is Tim Burton's Dark Shadows.
True that! Johnny Depp is so much better at comedy than anything else.
Amen, and Burton is no slouch at directing comedy either. Before Younger Child launched her current redecorating project, she had so many posters from The Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice, and Coraline that her room looked like a Tim Burton shrine. I think Big Fish is the only Burton film we don't own. We have had several conversations like, "Hey, Dad? Coraline is going to be released to DVD in 32 hours, 16 minutes and 44 seconds. Do you think I can get it? Do you think I can get it in 32 hours, 16 minutes and 44 seconds?"
"Yeah, I think maybe I can do that."
And, yes, she's definitely otaku.
No interest in seeing it....
Well, thanks for sharing, but isn't there something like, uh, thought processes involved in your decision? Something that goes beyond a bat fart in the middle of the night?
I understand that if you aren't a psychedelic relic as am I, you might never have run home from school to watch the original Dark Shadows. All the same, it's hard to imagine you don't get the campy humor of the new production.
Could I expect maybe, an explanation? A brief exposition of your aesthetic values? I don't like Johnny Depp because he's kissed Keira Knightley and I haven't? Feel free to jump in anytime.
While I'm waiting, how about Prometheus! I'm eager. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MhQe...feature=relmfu
A psychedelic relic? I gotta use that one!
Saw the Avengers it was astounding:thumbs:
Took my better half to see it last night, and she loved it. I must say, the second viewing is just as good as the first!
