FIC AN11 hangs at shutdown

My friend brought his fic an11 to my house because he wanted me to help him upgrade to xp. I updated his bios and grabbed all the current drivers.

I am currently using via's hyperion 4in1 but also tried the latest 4in1s before that.

Here's the prob:

If I set the boot order to Hard drive - CD rom - floppy then my computer will shut down properly but the secondary cd rom doesn't show up. If I set the boot order to cdrom - hard drive - floppy then second cd drive shows up but the computer hangs at shutdown.

I've tried putting the cdrom all ove the place (even its own channel), pulled the pci cards, swapped the memory around, used a ps2 and usb mouse, and searched all over the web.

Anyone have any idea?
