Trouble with Win98 freezing when connection IBM Aptiva to H-P USB devices
I have an Aptiva running AMD K6-2 475mhz with Win98...When I connect up either of these H-P
devices to the USB port my Win98 system freezes... My only recourse is to do a Ctrl-Alt-Del and end the task titled msgsrv32..My BIOS has USB enabled. My Device Manager under the USB area has SiS 7001 PCI to USB Open Host Controller enabled and USB Root Hub enabled... I have spent a lot of time on the phone with 4 different tech people at H-P and they say it is a problem with either my USB chipset or Win98... IBM says that they do not give technical advice on third party peripheral
devices...So I am stumped... I have followed the installation instructions carefully and have tried various things with the H-P people on the line... Anyone have any suggestions on how to get Win98 to let me use these devices?
