The other thing it could be is that the comport has simply died.... it's rare, but I had one a few months ago.
I have done that an have been trying to figure out the resources but have not figure out whats causeing it.thank you for the help
All resources on newer computers share with each other. You should first of all turn off in bios everything - parallel port, usb, sound, modem, network etc and just leave the comports. Remove them from windows and reboot to reinstall. Do they then show up without the code 10?
If so, re-enable one thing at a time. If not, you need to remove any pci cards and additional drives.
If they still are code 10, then they are almost certainly faulty.
Thanks for the help. I tryed all that said to do an they did not work. I guess my ports are bad. Thanks
You can get addon pci cards to provide comports...
I have a nikon scanner that uses nikon scan 3.1
It only works on my win 98 system since its not compatible with SP2.
I have Vista Ultimate 64bit on my laptop and Ive never experienced this problem. Which specific cards do these crashes apply to?
Hello Molly: At this point the thread you are participating in is about 7 years old. I don't believe any of the PCI cards made today would apply to your question at this time.
