Now (from time to time - I got studies on my mind) - I read dune heretics by Frank Herbert.
IMHO the Dune Series is a must for every geek ;)

The entire "_______ Prey" series by John Sanford. I am waiting on the next one, each book is a complete story in itself, although they do connect somewhat. And, he is a geek at heart!!:)
