Just curious as to exactly what the differences with the P3 processors are with the "E","B", and "EB" designations after the clock speed. I know, kinda redundant, but am still yet curious. Thanks in advance! https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2000/02/1.gif)
Ok, here's the rundown. First, you have your PIII 'E' series. Like the PIII 600E. First thing, is that it's still the same old Slot One. Also, ith has only 256k L2 Cache, but it's on die and runs at full processor speed. Then, there are the PII 'B' series. The 'B' signifies two things. First, the CPU now use's the standard Socket 370 format instead of the usual Slot One. Second, the bus speed has been raised from 100 Mhz to 133 Mhz. You can have an 'E' and an 'EB', but you can't just have a 'B'. Hope that helps...peace!

"E" denotes a Coppermine FC-PGA(Flip-Chip), 256k On-die L2, 100Mhz FSB.
"B" denotes a Katmai SECC2, Slot 1, 512K L2 Cache, 133MHz FSB.
"EB" denotes Coppermine FC-PGA, 256K On-die L2, 133MHz FSB

You are all wrong. I buid and repair these everyday. The specs are as follows:
"E" = coppermine core and 256k on-die cach, can be either slot 1 or fc-pga
"B" = 133 front side bus, can be either slot 1 or fc-pga
"EB" = coppermin core with 133 FSB, can once again be slot 1 or fc-pga
A processor can be either "E", "B", or "EB". The best is obviously "EB", but is also the most expensive. Hope this clears things up. Remember if you go with a 133 FSB CPU to use PC133 memory. Good luck!
