nope cant say that I have. I use STD. It's got everything you need and nothing you don't.
I use Slack 9.1 excusively on my home PC, it's pretty much the only way I can force myself to learn Linux and the shell. Knoppix-STD is also cool - great for getting things off a busted Windows PC, and also good for messing with your boss :D
aye, im a slackware user only have been since 1997 :) but I thought this was cool, slax live slackware cd.
Isn't knoppix (and it's spinoffs) all based off of slack? Or is it debian? I know topologilinux is.
Me? I'm a gentoo fan. Install takes a bit (specially on older hardware and if you do a stage1 install) but oh man does it cook after it's installed. That and the emerge function is nice. emerge pkgname to install unmerge pkgname to uninstall. The emerge function will find all dependencies and install them for you as well. emerge --pretend pkgname will give you a list of everything it's going to install. Very nice and streamlined. It's also kept up to date so you just emerge newer versions and it updates em for you (unlike suse that still uses gaim .67 and don't even try to compile the source cause it needs a bunch of dependencies and if you install those you'll break suse. Bad.). Ok I'm done.
eheh ya gentoo is nice. But I install a basic install of slack and compile every applciation for my hardware and make a spin off personal distro from slack ehhehe...
