Toshiba Laptops
Hi All,
Very odd happening.... I have had two different Toshiba laptops in my shop the last two weeks that have the exact same problem. One was an original Vista Home 64 and the other a 7 64.
Anyway, both now have 7 64 on them and both would update through windows update all the way through Service Pack 1, which installed fine on each, but after that, no updates, the bar would just run on searching for updates with nothing, no error and no updates, anyone else seen this? Before you advise me to run all the resets and fixes, they have been processed and no change.

You are usually pretty bright, but saying you've used ALL the possible repairs shows you have closed the doors on a LOT of help.
How about this site: http://helpdeskgeek.com/windows-7/ca...-windows-7-pc/

Thanks for the "bright" reference. Although I had not tried the above, it also did not work. As far as I can see, its has something to do with the update to the agent. The two laptops would update through windows update just fine, then it would get to the update to the agent, and after that,,,, nothing. This was in Windows 7 and Vista, both 64 bit.

Have you tried this:
Log in as the administrator
On the "Start" menu, click "Run”
In the "Open" box, type "msiexec /unreg", and then press ENTER.
Reboot (Shut down & restart)
On the "Start" menu, click "Run".
In the "Open" box, type "msiexec /regserver", and then press ENTER.
Reboot

Another fresh install, going on 6 hours with the green bar going back and forth, with no results as of yet. Will let it run all night and ....
