Profiles are too confusing for 98 ! never mind the client....
& I say this as if the client wants to use this 'feature' & keep using it he will prolly have the same kind of problems all over again. All 9x systems are really single user systems, yeah you can do some sort of pseudo profiling, but the underlying file system (FAT) knows nothing about permissions, you may find it a 'fairer' deal to upgrade to an NTFS based system rather than keep spending money on formats & re-installs...then again that depends how much you charge! But at a guess two re-installs might work out the same as a new shinny o/s, but I suppose you need to install that!
Anyways the point is NTFS so xp/2000 based sytems are much less likely to have problems with profiling especially with a clean install.
As for Incredmail you have realised its spyware! This is java based so your AV s/w may or may not let you know just what mischief its up to, depends on your Av s/w reaction to over-written windows components. Some AV s/w just 'accepts' this behaviour figuring that you authorised it so you must understand what its done and that's ok... oh yeah sure we all know what every dll does in windoze.. yeah sure....
If you don't want to use outlook or O.E., then Eudora (less virus attacks!), not as cutesy but doesn't mean a re-install every week....
