First Image from Photoshop

Just recently installed Photoshop on my computer at work, and after playing around with it for a while came up with this:

While not as good as more experienced photoshoppers (is that a word?), I think it's better than what I had before:

What do you guys think??

Looks pretty good to me!

I like the red background better but you might want to use white letters or put something behind them to make them stand out a bit.

I agree with ILTU. I like to put white shadows behind letters on a color background.

Looks good!!! :thumbs2:

Nice.

I also would make the text stand out, but probably by using either a black border around white letters or a diffused glow using a lighter color.

You can find that by right clicking on your layer, if you're looking. http://forums.windrivers.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Here's a couple of possibilities based on what ya'll suggested...

I tried making the text white, but the "S" disappeared when the maroon fades to white...

Here's the site this will go on...

Experimenting is half the fun, isn't it? http://forums.windrivers.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

I would try a burgundy to white fade in from top and bottom on that, keeping the black text. The white would end up being the text background

Also, I'd try having a solid white outline on that black text. I'd start at 5pts and then increment by 5 until I liked the look of it.

That's usually the final determining factor: it's done when you like it.

who is the cartoon suppose to be of and what is he doing? he looks heavely wasted! I think you should replace this old drunk cartoon fella with Special Ed from Crank Yankers, because you are advertising "Special Education", why not put that in your ad? Besides, I think the arrow think on the right looks okay but it's really destored and looks like it's been scanned in.
