My company uses VNC for remote administration of clients and Remote Desktops for remote administration of servers. Additionally, I use VNC to connect to my home PCs from work.
VNC is nice as it...

I must disagree. Dell is actually sticking to the ATX and ATX2 power pin-outs on their PSUs. At least for the newer systems. Older systems were (and are) proprietary and a complete pain in the...

If you're using Windows 2000 or Windows XP Pro (not sure about Home) you can edit the permissions of the shortcut and take away the 'read' rights. (You will probably have to turn off inheritance...

It could also be a crossover cable. Do you have another (known working) cable you can test with?

I think I'll test this out on my guinea pig computer at work, lol. (I'm not saying I don't beleive you, btw, it's just that I want to see what happens to get the experience and so I can recognize it...

I thought ME would still see another primary partition but just wouldn't know how to read it? Am I just confused or am I simply being stupid? (both seem to happen a lot, lol.)

Uhm...As far as I know, overinstalling will still effectively wipe the registry, and while all your programs will still be on the HD, they probably won't function too well, especially if they depend...

Ugh. I've never really had much luck in overinstalling any 9x/ME OSes. Are you sure that's the best way to resolve your current problem?

It's entirely possible, I've done it myself on occasion. I'm not saying it's really *good* for the computer, but there you have it.

Are both the Windows ME partition and Windows XP partition listed as 'primary'? From what I remember, 9x/ME doesn't like having 2 primary partitions where both are not hidden and it'll effectively...

ARG! I should have figured that MS would do that. The funny thing is that I'm not sure we have a retail version, but I *know* we have Office 2000 OEM for almost every PC we have. God this is gonna...

Well, MS and Apple aren't really the best of friends anyway. I mean, look what happened to Halo. It was originally going to be published for the Mac first but then MS bought Bungie and butchered...

How are you dual booting? Separate partitions or hard drives I hope. I had 98SE and 2000 on the same partition once and they didn't play nice together. I'd get all sorts of errors, some similar to...

Recently, I've started at a new job and in the interest of reducing bandwidth and time consumed when wiping/reinstalling PCs, I've been trying to create an administrative install of Office 2000...

I'd like to, but if I try to install DX 8.1a, it will go through and extract all the files, but as soon as it's done with that, it will say "DirectX Setup Complete." Nothing more. Then it just...

Ok, thanks for all the replies so far, guys. Does anyone know whether the detonator drivers support video-in, or is that one of the above-mentioned 'special features'?

So if I was going to get one of Asus' cards, I couldn't use the Detonator drivers at all, or would they just not support all of the advanced features on the card? Such as the 3D Glasses, multiple...
