Hi there,
WMP 11 (vista) is terrible to play videos. normal .wmv files play OK at normal size but when in full screen they are horribly choppy. in addition my HD wmv are choppy even at normal...

i also have an acer with intel 2200bg and i had problems with poor encryption preformance, i solved it by using intel proset to manage the wireless connection instead of windows, works great ever...

there is nothing attached to the lappy at all; and i dont have the card reader in this model, i believe they are sub models of the tm 4000; flashing the bios will probably solve it, but id rather not...

i did it manually a couple years back and i recall that i had issues, i had to go to the recovery console to put things right, but i cannot remember what exactly went wrong

dont change the partitions
i have a acer travelmate 4000, great laptop btw
i fdisked the hard drive and discovered that acer actually has a 3 gig hidden partition, anyway i deleted it, bad move...

what os are you running? you can only get ntfs with xp, 2000, 2003, and nt. ntfs would allow security features, a little faster, a little more efficant and allows for larger disks
