Don't go with any cheap just, it will only give you problems with an AMD cpu. I would try Micron. At the price of memory now why be cheap! My 2 cents

You need to install SP2 for windows this will enable ATA100. With out this your drive under windows 2K won't be useing ATA100.

Since the Duron has a smaller cache, I would go with the T-bird.

My AMD 1.1GHZ runs between 39c and 45c. Over clocked to 1.4ghz runs about 42c - 48c.

I've had pretty good luck with AMD and INTEL but a couple of years ago we used Cyrix and only 1 of 5 were ever good.
