Could also be the CD drive itself. I would stop tht install and attach a different CD drive as a test. This happens everyso often in my exp.

I'ts been awhile for me here.
I just reinstalled my server 2003 standard edition r2.
It is running dhcp and is a dns server on a single domain.
All seems fine using the wizards...
