Thanks NooNoo.
After connecting to the domain I could not see the network drives.
I logged off and then found I could change the loggin from the laptop user to the domain and bingo everything...

Sorry for such a long gap in replying but my client has been on holiday.
I have managed tp successfully connect to the domain (hurray)
The problem know is that I cannot connect to the network...
