Thanks for the help. I tried that dumb Creative Labs cdrom in 2 other cpus nad it does the same. I can't believe it died! I just used it right before I installed the new mobo!

If money was not a problem then you'd have to check out those Event Gina/Layla, etc... cards. Perfect for recording digital audio and running to an adat recorder. I wish I had one!!!!

Does anyone know what is wrong if you try to burn a cd at your normal speed, mine is 8x:1200kb/s, and you receive the error message below and the waste of a good cdr. I can burn fine from hard drive...
