You need to first determine if it is an Intel chipset or Via chipset board, either by going to the device manager and openning System Devices, or looking at the book, then what OS do you have?

Just to add to the fun, if it is an 810e (100 or 133, as opposed to the 810 no "e" that is just 100Mhz), any P3 or P3 Celeron should autosence, but Intel has a BIOS ID utility that I was looking for...

Just to overstate the obvious, have you tried going into Network Nay-borhood and setting the gateway to 192.168.0.1 (which is the ICS default I believe) so the troubled machine has a hard coded local...
