The floppy cable should have a red stripe on it.
On the motherboard the floppy connector should have a either an arrow or a "1" next to one of the pins, put the red stripe on that side (or there's...

Inside the breakroom at my work is a poster saying "Learn to Read" offering free help to improve literacy.
(We don't get many questions on that one. Wonder why?) :D

I visit almost every day but just don't always feel like chiming in. Still have a long way to 500.

Yea Guys, I know 133mhz is nothing to you and I but I deal with a LOT of older machines and charity cases, friends and family, all running across old machines. I still get paying customers that need...

You may want to try to order one or two to find out, but I believe that there are a few Intel based pci modems out there that don't have steep hardware requirements.
Jaton makes an Intel based...

For those who have done the prelim reading on it, the concept looks good. I signed up (and yes, forked over the $99) and was looking forward to having the stability of Linux with the ease of use of...

"saving money" / "good computer" is tough to balance.
1. I hate Western Digital and Fujitsu hard drives. I only use Samsung and Maxtor Hard drives.
2. Get a good power supply (300 watt+)...

Yes. Fairly rare, but true. Some IBM model 350's (around 166mhz or so) used EDO DIMMs. They also had a slightly different shape to them (the short-side notch was moved over just enough to not fit a...

If you get to the point where you want to dispose of some or all, I'd be happy to take some off your hands even if you were to keep the hard drives.

I would give the DIMM's a shot. For the money you get so much more. You can get 128 PC-100 for easily less than $30 US. About 95% of this style mobo will work fine with PC-100 memory. One DIMM should...

Couple of things:
1. The settings for 100mhz: Front Side Bus is 66.6mhz and the chip runs at 1.5x the FSB speed (66.6 x 1.5 = 99.9mhz)
133mhz = 66.6mhz FSB with clock multiplier at 2x
166mhz =...

Does the TV support 70hz? I thought TV's only went to 50 or 60hz.
Maybe the problem is similar to the effect you get when you try to videotape a monitor....
Try 800x600 at 60hz and see if that...
