I just installed DirectX 9 (for Freelancer) and now games that required older versions of DirectX run terrible. Freelancer runs great, no complaintes there, but games like Homeworld and Sim City 3000...

here's the story of my problem...
I got a new GeForce 3 yesterday and when I put it in my Asus K7V 133 board replaceing a GeForce256 it wouldn't boot. A little steamed I tried it on my other system...

It's really fun setting a gaurd on fire and awtch him run to his teammates and set them on fire :)
Fun waching them start shooting the burning guy so he doesn't set the others on fire :D

There are not many 'mom and pop' places left around here, my best bet would be Global or one of the smaller computer chains. Either way, it will cost about half the price of a new board to do that....

I've updated it to the latest BIOS with no luck, and I've tried the GeForce cards with it. That leaves me with the options of leaving it as-is, getting a new video card or get a new MB...

Double checked the manual, it is a K7T266 Pro (MS-6380)...AGP not Pro :(
So it looks like this thing will never be able to run a GeForce...I'll have to get a new board for it :(

I've updated the BIOS to the latest and reset it to every default option it could. I don't think I tried moving the AGP to 2x. I thought the GeForce256 and 2 MX were 'old AGP pro', not the newer form...
