It was an HP so I did the recovery process with the F10 key and did the advance options for the destructive recovery.

It doesn't give an exact error. On the main panda screen it just shows "Error" in the firewall status. If you click on more info it just recommends to try to restart the computer or reinstall...

Actually it only prompts me for the SP2 CD, but just for the heck of it I did insert the my windows XP CD b/c I was getting frustrated and it still just told me to insert my SP2 CD.

Lately I've been noticing one bad drive holding down the other one and not letting it be detected. You may want to try loading with one drive connected at a time and see if one of them gets detected.

With the system shutting down, I'd probably say more of a power supply or motherboard issue rather than RAM or any kind of spyware or virus. Or atleast that's what I see more dealing this this type...
