so are you saying your bios settings are totally automated and give you no options for change such as highlight the one you want primary and hit the minus two left of the backspace to move to...

is it possible they removed a system/mb driver that is loaded as different in safe mode???

probably need to change the bios settings to reflect your desire
if you dont want to boot from the cdroms then if your bios allows deselect them as boot devices
then or otherwise set the boot...
