Just a little thing to check-make sure that your video card is completely seated. Sometimes when rooting around you can bump your video card and unseat it slightly. Normally this will cause 4 beeps...

After working for several hours with my JVC I finally just gave up and swapped it for a Panasonic. Firewire functions just as it should. Used the same programs I used with the JVC and had no problems...
