If your bios does not see the drive there is no way for any OS to set it up. As shamus said earlier, DEAD DRIVE, try replacing the drive with known good one.

Make sure all three files .EXE, r00, and r01, are in the same dir.. Althought it is a winrar file it is a self exe file and will make a dir. of its own, MAYBE.. :flame:

Make sure System Restore has been turned off, and Machine has been re-booted, so the system dose not put the old config back in place. Than try installing your new drivers...

That computer uses a standard cd-rom, and can be replaced by same. If you need the drivers, I do have them some where, (hehehe) let me know and I'll look for them.

I see you used JV16, it might have you stuck in a loop, (it keeps restoring, the old registry, and not the new one or newly saved one.) Try saving the registry before you reboot (make a back-up),...

Sounds like the system restore is on, disable system restore and remove all other sound installs from safe-mode than reinstall. That should work.

Might be that the cpu is over heating, or a stick of bad memory,
Clean fan and Re-seat heat sink and try from there.

Do you have the lastest BIOS for the C600, I run A23 on one of mine (Win2k), and A22 on my wifes (WinXp).

You can try to release and than renew the ip address for the mac address, if that does not do it disable the connection from net work settings and remove it.
Do a reinstall and try it again

Try un-installing and than re-install the app. Try it from windows up-date site after you uninstall it.
