I would think that your proc is fine. It is probably coincidence that the problem manifested as the fans died. My tbird runs at 143 under load! I would look at the setup and software first.

The company I work for used 3Com when I came here. As the 3Com cards die, I replace them with Intel. I have yet to replace an Intel card.
