You should check to make sure that the power supply requirement is met. You are in another country with different voltage regulations.

You don't need to update BIO. You should install the card's driver and windows Directx.(Some new drivers need to have this installed too)

I would suggest to connect the floppy drive first because to install XP from scratch...you'll need a boot disk.

If possible, connect that faulty drive to another PC, preferably one running Win 2k/XP. Connect the drive and see if you could retrieve the drive from there.
