Just get a CMOS clearing utility ie KillCMOS, CLRCMOS, etc and reset the bios to setup defaults. NB: Must be able to boot from floppy.

Try loading a universal (there's one in windrivers) DOS driver first(ie through autoexec), if that works you need to update the CDROM driver in windows.
If it doesn't you may have a dud drive.
