To install a RAM upgrade on your 200 series laptop -
1. Go to Toshiba's website and download the user guide for your laptop. Follow the instructions in chapter two for upgrading your RAM.
-OR-
1.Turn the Laptop over. Look for a plastic cover with two screws on it and a small square picture that looks like an upgrade card with a chip on it - this is the RAM upgrade port. Remove the screws, take the cover off, remove the existing RAM upgrade CAREFULLY and install the new RAM by sliding the edge connector into the slot (edge connector is the gold edge of the upgrade) then pressing evenly to seat the card. Screw the cover back on and test.
2. If this covre does not exist look at the back of the laptop for a slot to install the SEALED RAM CARD (looks like a PCMCIA card) - NOTE if your RAM card looks more like bare RAM that you find in a PC skip this section
3. a.Turn the laptop over.
b.remove the battery and cdrom
c.remove the two screws on the bottom front (they became visible when you removed the battery and cdrom.
d. Remove the single screw on the Hard Drive cover (it is in line with the other two you just removed.)
e. Slide the hard drive cover off.
f. Turn the laptop over and open the screen
g. Tip the plastic cover in front of the keyboard out and up.
h. Install the RAM into the connector.
i. Replace all removed parts.
