My boss lost his Palm password!!!
Got a call from my boss. His Palm Vx is currently in system lockout. Don't know why or how. Basically, he can't do anything with the unit until he enters the password, not even HotSync'ing. What really gets me is that he hasn't sync'd it in over 3 months! I need to remove the password, but does anybody know how??? And if anybody suggests pCrack.exe or any other Palm program I'm going to scream because I CAN'T SYNC THIS PROGRAM TO THE PALM BECAUSE IT'S LOCKED OUT.
The good part is that he's supposed to be telling me how much of a raise I'm going to get this week, so if I can save his @$$ I can get some cash!!!

I dunno MacGuyver...
I will look a little further. If I were you, I would call Palm and see if there is anything they can do... They will probably say no though...

I found this article which explains how to do this. The instructions are a bit shaky but I'm going to try this on Monday when I can actually get my hands on the thing. So wish me luck........

The solution was to do a hard reset and start from scratch. Fortunately most of the address book was stored on the network, however he did lose his entire datebook for the last three months. I tried the hack above but I couldn't get it to work. I could access console mode, but it wouldn't accept any commands. Someday I'll keep trying to hack into my own Palm so if this happens again I'll be ready. BTW, the first thing we did was select a password and enter it in the Palm. Then I wrote it down and put it in a safe place so we won't have this problem again.
