NAV 2002 Beta works flawlessly (apart from the System Tray icon disapearring from time to time for some reason, but thats Beta for you).
The interface for NAV2002 is more XP'ish but it doesn't hog any more resources than 2001 does (I have checked on both 2K & XP RC2).
I have also been impressed by it as well in terms of loading times. Loads a bit quicker than 2001.

NAV2001 works fine if you download the latest SYMEVNT.exe file from Symantec.
I tried NAV 2002 and found it to have some serious problems with some applications which causes them to just bomb out.

Hay your link is dead... can you let me know the full name and URL for this software. I have been using AVG-Free for some time now but XP dosn't like it, and I can't wait for the update from them. I don't like leaving my machine unprotected...
