    ok first up - reinstall the drivers using the toshiba drivers here


    To load these sound drivers, download them and unzip them to say c:\sound (self extracting). Next ascertain if there is a setup.exe in the unzipped files. Now right click my computer, properties, 3rd tab-hardware - device manager button. Under the listing for sound and multimedia, uninstall all items relating to yamaha and soundblaster emulation (if any). If the unzipped files contain a setup.exe, run that by double clicking the file - if not shut down and restart windows and when it detects the sound devices point windows to the c:\sound directory and it should find what it needs in one of the folders. Windows is specifically looking for a file ending .inf.

    For future reference, this is where you get your toshiba drivers and stuff
