    Open device manager. See if there are any ? or ! in sound, video, and game controllers. If so, right click and choose properties. Update driver. Point it to the file you have downloaded. See if it is the correct one.

    First she would have to unpack the download Doc, right?

    If we are seeing a .sys, .drv, .inf, it's already open. Check the first post.

    I opened device manager. my sound and game controllers were ok, listed things like Audio Codecs, Video Codecs, Legacy Audio & Video, Uni-Modem Half-Duples. There was another part of that list that said Other Devices which had a ? and 4 ?'s below it.

    Those codec are actually MicroSoft ones for sound.
    The ones with ?'s are what we need to "fix".
    What do they say?
    If not a name, answer my previous post.
