Ijust cant find where to install the driver from and Im not for sure if this is the problem I think it is but not certain.
& you wn the prize for spotting your own issue ! - it was this playing some sounds but not all that fooled us - 'code 1' jut means the driver install is 'wrong' & needs to be retried, both I & Noo got sidetracked by a similarly named thing which is the usual culprit ..
So I don't know what your soundcard is either !
You can try deleting it from device manager & seeing if windows can refind what it is correctly this time - but, failing that, if you tell us some stuff we can work it out & find you an appropriate driver - so tell us please the manufacturer & model of your pc - if its a home build you ought to know whats in it soundcard wise, but if not, there are utilities or visual inspection to discover it.
