Partition Commander 10 won't let me in C or D drive
I am using XP sp2 on an msi motherboard with 1.3 ghz Duron.
I copied my c: drive to d: with partition commander 10. I closed to program and restarted...in either booting from C: or D: I get the message.."Interrupted operation. Insert the recovery cd or other recovery media and reboot the PC". I do this and it says the program has finished..to reboot and the same message comes up. I looked at the boot.ini and directory structure for both FAT32 partitions and they look fine.
I am guessing fixboot from the recovery console may solve this. Does anyone have a clue about what is happening ? Thanks.

Sounds like you have confused the boot loader... after all you just moved your system from one drive to another.
If you run fixboot, you run the risk of not being able to access either partition.
When you say the boot.ini looks fine, does it give the path as C or D?

Both drives refer to c:
I will be moving the d to a new computer and want it to be an alternate boot-up drive when using my bios to switch between boot up drives.

So D is a physically different drive.
And if you remove the D drive, do you get the same message?

I received the same message from both drives. I just ran Partition Commander recovery cd and clicked correct the master boot record on booting c and booting d and everything is back to normal. The program had written the message to the boot record that caused the problem. I thought I had run this same program before however.
Both drives have identical programs on. I wish they had put troubleshooting in the back of the manual.
Thanks for the message.

Well at least that's sorted then.
