Post sony vaio pcg-fx-250 monitor problem

recently changed operating sys to win 2000 pro. My display now only shows 16 colors and the size of the screen had reduced to around 70% of original size. Any ideas. Can't seem to find the right driver. Sony support does not show a problem.

If it's just the monitor then just use the standard Super VGA 1280x1024 driver so you can set your res & color depth.

If you still can't get anything above 640x480 w. 16 colors, it's probably your adapter drivers. Download and install W2k drivers from your adapter manufacture.

    Similar Problem

I recently got my hands on a Vaio pcg-xg18 laptop also recently reloaded with Windows 2000 and am experiencing a similar problem. Unfortunately I don't have access to any restore discs to obtain the computer's previous drivers. I appreciate any information anyone may have that could help me.
