Telephone Dialer Problem
When I try to use my telephone dialer program in Win 98, I get an error saying that there is a problem with the telephone driver or port. I have some other software that I am trying to use to dial out, and it tells me that the port is not avaiable. I do not see anything that would be tying my modem port up, it is on IRQ 10, which is the same as my sound card, but I removed the sound card and it still does not work. When I go into my AOL it dials up fine, and when I query my modem under modem properties, it reports no errors. My modem is on Com 3 I believe. Any ideas? This is on a Laptop by the way.

MegaMod
I take it you've already checked Tools/Connect Using...and Dialing Properties...all of that looks OK? I suppose it is possible that program, Phone Dialer, is hosed up somehow.
Have you tried HyperTerminal? Go to Start/Programs/Accessories/Communications/HyperTerminal. It is a basic terminal emulator but maybe once you get connected, you can then fire up your other applications.
Just a suggestion...Good Luck!
I'm good enough.
