Subnetmask
I have a BIG problem.
When users are trying to login, they can use the IPX/SPX but they cannot use the TCP/IP protocol.
When I run WINIPCFG and choose the correct networkadapter, I get an IP adres, but my subnetmask is 255.255.0.0, this is not good. It should be 255.255.255.0. But every morning the users have to run WINIPCFG and choose "renew all" and then the subnetmask is being changed correctly.
How can I solve this problem, so the subnetmask is already good without doing the step "renew all" every morning?
Thanks in advance.

first remove all other adapters but the correct one. If you don't see any other that the correct one, you will need to boot into safemode to kill them off.

I am going to take a stab at this, and ask for more information.
Describe the network. Peer or server/client. Is this a NT domain, or Novell based network with NT servers? DHCP, or static IP's for these PC's (In short, are the PC's authenticating, and if so, to what?) Is the incorrect mask issue happening to every user, many users, or only one or two? They are all 98 or 95...
What symptoms leads you to believe the mask is causing the problems with the tcpip connection?
Sorry, no solution.
This sounds like it could be bigger than a minor pc problem, so you will have to offer as much information to describe your situation. I am sure someone will be able to help then.
