Resolved [RESOLVED] msnp32.dll error...have no cd rom and errors on both ide's

been trying to kill the errors but cannot get a cdrom to reload info...errors on both ide controllers and a msnp32.dll error which kicks in at startup... possibly the root of problem.
    thanks

If you've got yellow exclamation marks on the IDE channels, it could be bad drivers for them - find updated ones from your MB manufacturer and see if that helps. Could be a virus in the boot sector of the main HD messing things up as well. If it's related to the dll error on startup, it could be a corrupted dll - try extracting it from the Windows 9x CD and replacing the file.

Worse comes to worse - load a device driver for the CD-ROM and run MSCDEX to temporarily get access to the drive. Normally Windows will load a native driver for it, but if the IDE channels have problems then it won't see the CD-ROM drive.

Make sure you haven't already got a CD driver loading in the config.sys that is causing the problem.
