Question Saving password in dial up connection?

Here is a dumb question because I did this before, but forgot how to do it

I just reformated my computer and installed Win98 back onto it, well, now whenever I go to get online I have to type in my ISP password, and the check box is greyed out. How do I get it to remember my password?

Cool

Go to Control panel/ Network/ click Add and select Client. Install this component and you should get the remember password option.

Remember thought that some software may be able to use these stored settings to dialup automatically (with or without your consent).

If that's what you want, fine. But if you like to keep a tight ship and are a control freak (like I am ), be careful.

When you get to where Doc Holiday told you to go, he forgot to tell you which one to install...here is the correct one...

Install Microsofts, Client for Micorsoft Networks...then you will be able to use the save password box.
How does Mr. T take his coffee??

As soon as Doc mentioned the Control Panel/Network, I knew what to do. It just took someone to refresh my mind
Thanks Doc and everyone else

Has the problem been solved? Another thing to remember is that you have to login with a username for saving the password on a dialup connection.

Yes the problem has been solved. It's just that next time I HAVE to learn to remember this or I'll be asking the question again.
