[RESOLVED] Fatal exception ..... vxd shell

We are running Windows 98 SE. When I boot a users machine I get the error.

fatal exception occured at OE 0028:c0248ccc in vxd shell.

I searched Microsoft's knowlegde base and found nothing.

anybody seen this one before?

No enough info man.

Can you boot in Safe Mode ?
did you install anything ?

did you try to copy the file from another computer ?

when does it happen ? ( while loading Windows (dos), at the logon screen - after the GUI is up etc..)

General Tip:

if you replaced this file already (froma nother computer)

When you reboot and get "Starting Windows 98"
press [F8] then choose option 5. (command prompt)

in the command prompt type

scandisk /all /autofix /nosave

if there's no errors :
type

scanreg /fix /opt


reboot and let me know ...
