In 'Internet Options' use the 'Clear History' button.

    Thumbs up

Or go to c:\windows\history and delete the files manually.

Or better yet, Use TweakUI and delete them every time you restart your computer.

    hi,
you may also try using registry, in that you search the keyword, i.e your keyword will be the url name u want to remove.
it will directly locate the entry.
delete that entry and all other entries found in tht search.
after you r done, just as usual restart the m/c

    hope it solves ur prob.

    thanx n bye

another way I have found is to go to taskbar right click, properties, start menu prog tab, documents menu and left click on clear tab then OK you'll now find that they (URL's) have gone.

Keep in mind though that incorrectly deleting URL's can damage your IE cache and pages may not load correctly, may not refresh and may not even load. Better use softwares like Window Washer, Evidence Eliminator etc. However in this not only URLs but also the associated files gets washed off.

    Cool

    Damned Angel
I believe what you want is go to View / Toolbars and uncheck Address Bar.

    In reply to DR.
I think Damned Angel would like to know how to search from the address bar and not have the addresses visible in the drop down menu.

correct. Ihate having the drop down menu onthe address bar, its just annoying. If I want to get somewhere quick, I can use the history or my favorites

I've posted this URL quite a few times, IMHO the best IE site on the web:

    www.ieinfosite.co.uk

Solves most of my problems and loads of tips, registry hacks, and tweaks

See if this is what you want. Go to Tools/ Internet Options/ Content tab/ Click Autocomplete button/ Uncheck web addresses. Hope this helps.
