    Ok, first thing is to make sure you have installed all the drivers properly, by checking the Device Manager. Second, you HAVE to configure the network settings first. If it's an actual NETWARE card, is it set up for TCP/IP? You need to have the following installed in the Network dialog in COntrol Panel before you should try to use WinIPcfg:
    Network Client (Usually Client for Windows networks)
    Protocol (99% of the time that's TCP/IP)
    Adapter (Your network card should appear here if set up properly. This is where you assign it static IP settings, such as IP address, and DNS/WINS servers, or you configure it to use DHCP to obtain IP settings).

    if you have TCP/IP installed it might just be a corrupted Winsock (Virus ??)

    run System File Checker

    start-> Run -> SFC.exe

    and restore damaged files..

    can prob be solved by just removing tcp ip and all clients from network. but i would also go into Windows setup and remove communications.... then reinstall off the win cd.... gointo network and install all you your necessary clients and protocalls and set them up for your network...
    hope this helps
