can't install win 98 2nd on clean hard drive
i have reformatted my hard drive only to find i can't reinstall win 98 2nd ed. i have a boot disk. I only get "this program requires microsoft windows". what files or what do i need to do to make this work?

Do you have the full version of 98SE or the upgrade?

the disk came with the computer. It doesn't say upgrade on it, but I have been told it must be an upgrade disk or I would not get this message.

What is the part number listed on the disk?

try to boot from the cd itself and run setup from there

The part # you have is the Windows 98SE Upgrade, from 3.1 and 95.
