    Resolved [RESOLVED] system freeze loading msmouse.vxd

    oem load win98se system will freeze loading msmouse.vxd reboot in safe mode will load okay. shutdown/restart no problem after that.
    if system shut down for any length of time freezes again. changed ram no luck. changed mouse. original ms trekker changed to optical usb ms wheel mouse same problem
    piii 733 128mb pc133 azza dvax2+mobo
    any suggestions

    Looks like the best thing you can do is install Windows over.

    have formatted & reinstalled with new motherboard already

    Question

    Try booting to safe mode, and then changing the mouse driver to Standard PS2 mouse. Reboot, and see what that does. Otherwise, try a Dos mode mouse driver, and test it in Edit. Did it ever work in the past?

    Open your system.ini by running sysedit in the run line. Check for the following line. If it does not read as such, chang it so it does. Did you load any mouse drivers?

    mouse.drv=mouse.drv

    got problem figured out. ati video driver was
    hanging/freezing system
    installed different version of driver no
    problems
