Talking Win98 2nd Edition and DVD drives

I have just upgraded to W98 2nd Ed which according to MS supports watching DVD movies. I also purchased a Pioneer SCSI DVD rom drive 303.

On installation it is only recognises it as a CD not DVD drive. The help says to run the DVD player, select start, run, programs, accessories, entertainment
dvd player : but this does not exist.

Do I have to have a hardware decoder card or am I way of the mark???

A hardware decoder card would be the way to go, but you could also change your video card to support the Zoran SoftDVD software.
An obstacle is something you see when you take your eyes off your goal.
