Windows 95 Won't Start
I have a desktop computer with a large problem. When starting up, Windows starts to load and then it reverts to a blank screen with "Windows Protection Error. You Need To Restart Your Computer" error. It starts in Safe mode fine. When I do step by step confirmation, it goes fine until the Windows drivers load. Nothing was changed yesterday, but this morning I can;t bring up Windows. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

I've seen this problem before and if I'm not mistaken, it was something in the network components causing the problem. Go to network properties & delete all components (nic, protocols, etc.) Reboot & reinstall nic (with latest drivers if possible). Might fix your problem. Let us know!

I just happened to have the exact same problem. It occuered right after installing the Novell Client v3.3.
So far I haven't been able to see my way past this one and I don't have much time to troubleshoot. Time to "ghost"

We do use a Netware client, although nothing had changed with her PC. I have since ghosted a PC for her to use while I take your suggestions and try to fix hers. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks!

Cool! I had a 98 system that had the modem replaced. Every time it was booted it would go straight to safemode. I removed the Modem and the entire driver data base and rebooted. It came up and loaded all the drivers, but when the modem was installed it would go to safemode. I reseat the modem, same. So I got the idea to try this and it freakin' worked! Just thought I would throw that FYI out to everyone
