Windows 98 SE keeps forgeting there's a sound card installed
I built a computer from old parts laying around (all of which were known good parts). It's a 200mhz pentium with 64meg of ram running W98 SE. It was working fine for several weeks. For some reason this week every time you shutdown the computer it forgets it has a 16 bit plug & play sound card. You have to go to the add new hardware wizard every time and reinstall it. It always finds it, but this is getting to be a pain. Any suggests where to look?

Try this:

Pulling the card out.
boot and clear all drivers for it.
Than replace card in another slot if you can.
Boot, if windows does not see card than use install new hardware to install card..
Some plug and hope card have jumper on them to make them plug & play, make sure it is set right
