    Question Divide Overflow

    Im getting a divide overflow error. It says:

    The program caused a divide overflow error.
    It says there were too many file open in
    autoexec.bat???

    I have no clue, except maybe whats loading in autoexec might be corrupted or somthing?? Thanks in advance for any help

    Have you tried editing the autoexec.bat file to increase the FILES= statement. It used to work back in the DOS days.

    check your autoexec.bat to see what it's loading. add a REM in front of the stuff that you don't want it to load, or hit the F8 key as the machine is starting up and select a step by step boot. that way you can see what it loads before it errors and add the REM in front of that line.

    Thanks for the info, i just edited it and removed the line that was causing the problem. Now it works fine. Im not sure how it was caused but removing the line took care of the problem
