    Resolved [RESOLVED] Com port

    I need to run a 20 foot com port cable
    will it work or will there be to much signal loss?

    I've seen it done. It should work o.k. If you are using it to transfer files between two PC's or play games, it is gonna be painfully slow. Go with a peer to peer network.

    COM Port? Uh, off of one of your serial ports, or off of your parallel ports?

    Parallel ports have a max range (according to specs) of like 15 feet if I remember right. And serial cables I don't believe even have that much range. I could be off, but if you specify which I/O port your referring to, I'll get the exact specs for you.
